Commit your work to the Lord

Proverbs 16:3 states, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” This verse provides an important principle for Christians as they prepare for the coming new year.

As the new year approaches, it is a common practice for people to make plans and set goals for the future. In the context of Proverbs 16:3, the verse encourages believers to commit their plans and endeavors to the Lord. This involves seeking God’s guidance and aligning one’s intentions with His will.

In the context of the new year, Proverbs 16:3 can be seen as a reminder to approach our plans and goals with a spirit of surrender to God’s will. Instead of relying solely on our own understanding and abilities, we are called to acknowledge God in all our ways and seek His direction. This can involve prayerfully considering our aspirations, seeking wisdom from Scripture, and being open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

When we commit our plans to the Lord, we acknowledge His sovereignty and seek His guidance in all that we do. This verse reminds us that ultimately, it is God who establishes our paths and brings our plans to fruition. By aligning our desires with God’s purposes and committing our efforts to Him, we can trust that He will guide and bless our endeavors in the new year.

Therefore, as the new year approaches, Proverbs 16:3 encourages Christians to approach their plans and goals with a mindset of seeking God’s will and committing their efforts to Him. By doing so, they can find assurance that their plans will be established according to God’s purposes and for His glory.
