Leave it in the past
In times of trouble and mishaps, it can be easy to dwell on the past and feel weighed down by mistakes and accidents. However, as Christians, we are called to leave our burdens at the feet of Jesus and move forward in faith. In Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV), the apostle Paul writes, “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
This Scripture reminds us that our focus should be on the future and the hope we have in Christ, rather than dwelling on the mishaps of the past. Just as God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), we are called to embrace each new day with faith and courage, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient to carry us through.
As we leave accidents and mishaps in the past, let us hold onto the promise in Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV), “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
May you find comfort and strength in these words, and may you be encouraged to move forward with confidence, knowing that God is always working for your good.
