National Prayer day

In the United States, the National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, during which people are encouraged to pray for the nation. It is not a federal holiday, but it is recognized by the U.S. government and many state and local governments. The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and it was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Since then, it has been observed annually on the first Thursday of May.
