Submit Resist, and he will flee

Title: Submit to God, Resist the Devil, and He Will Flee

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, I would like to speak to you about the importance of submitting to God and resisting the devil in our daily lives. The Bible tells us in James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” These words are a powerful reminder of the spiritual battle that we face every day and the key to overcoming the schemes of the enemy.

Submission to God is the foundation of our faith. It requires us to surrender our will, desires, and ambitions to the will of God. When we submit to God, we acknowledge His sovereignty and authority over our lives. We trust in His wisdom and guidance, knowing that His plans for us are good and perfect.

But submission to God is not just a passive act; it also requires us to actively resist the devil. The devil is constantly seeking to deceive, tempt, and destroy us. He preys on our weaknesses, doubts, and fears, seeking to lead us away from God and into sin. However, when we resist the devil with the strength and power of God, he has no choice but to flee from us.

Resisting the devil means standing firm in our faith, putting on the full armor of God, and wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. It means saying no to temptation, rebuking lies with truth, and seeking the presence and protection of God in prayer. When we resist the devil with unwavering faith and trust in God, he has no power over us.

Brothers and sisters, let us not underestimate the spiritual battle that we are engaged in. The devil is real, and his tactics are cunning and deceitful. But we have the power of God on our side, and when we submit to Him and resist the devil, we can be confident that victory is ours.

As we go forth from this place today, let us remember the words of James 4:7. Let us submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and watch as he flees from us in defeat. May we be strong and courageous in the face of spiritual warfare, knowing that God is with us and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.

Amen.
